Frequently Asked Camp Questions

DSCF3132 copy_edited_edited.png

My child is 8/almost 9, which group should I register for?

We recommend that 8-year-old campers join the ages 5 to 8 group. The 9 to 13 age group is for campers who are 9 and up, or turning 9 soon AND have previously attended LOLART, as returning students are familiar with our class structure, expectations, and project pace.

Our teachers meet each student at their individual level, adapting lessons for beginners to more advanced artists. Grouping students with peers of a similar age helps maintain the right pace and energy in class.

If we feel your 8-year-old is ready for the older group, we can easily move them to ensure they’re in the best environment for their growth and enjoyment.

Is the camp nut-free?

Yes, we're a nut-free camp! We kindly ask that everyone bring nut-free lunches and snacks.
If your child has allergies, please note it during registration. Make sure your child brings any emergency medication needed. If teachers need special instructions, please write a notice to service@lolart.ca and let the teacher know on the first day of camp.

What should we bring?

  • Dress for mess and for the weather!

Art can get messy, be sure to wear something you can get messy in! Please also dress appropriately for the weather, bring a hat and sunscreen, if needed. If the weather permits, we’ll be spending some time outdoors.

  • Lunch & Snacks!

Campers need to bring their own nut-free lunches and snacks. Full day campers get a lunch break and two snack breaks, so please pack food and drinks accordingly. Half-day campers will have one snack break.

How many breaks will there be? Will there be time spent outside?

Full day campers have a lunch break from 12-1 pm and two 15-minute snack breaks around 10:15 am and 2:15 pm. Half day campers will have one break.

We lo

We love going outdoors (as long as the weather is nice)! We have outdoor art activities and sometimes have picnics at a nearby park.

For our North York Art Camp, the nearest park is Old Sheppard Park.

For our Vaughan Art Camp, the park is right in the school grounds of East Vaughan School.

Can I register my 4-year-old?

Our camp is designed for children ages 5 and up. We follow a structured daily schedule, and our art projects are specifically designed with ages 5 and up in mind.

That said, if you have a child that is almost 5, and you feel they are ready, we're happy to accommodate a half-day option (9 am-12 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm) as an introduction to camp life!

Please note that all campers must be fully toilet trained.
