The Proud Details

Let your inner artist and greatness shine!

Art & Proudness learners will dive into their creative ‘mind’s eye’ as they experiment with exciting materials and practice foundational art skills, including perspective, anatomy, composition, colour and more! They will exercise their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create artworks that tell a story. Witness your children grow into open-minded individuals proud of who they are and what they make!

What to Expect

Make space on your walls and refrigerator! Each term includes 3–4 projects, including a big project (acrylic painting and/or clay sculpting). Every project has a theme, and students incorporate their own interests to tell a personal story, building a genuine connection to their artwork.

Students will learn to:

  • Draw 3D forms and use pencil and colour shading to create light and shadow

  • Apply the elements of art and principles of design

  • Make their own creative choices (composition, colour palette, subject matter, etc.) within each theme

  • Build on previous lessons, developing their skills project by project

  • Share their artwork to their peers and express their artistic intentions
