DIGITAL ART BASICS

Age: 10+
Duration & Term length: 1.5 hours, 5 classes
Rate: $30/class + tax (materials included, a tablet, keyboard and stylus will be provided)

This beginner’s course is perfect for those who are new to digital art. Over a course of 5 classes, students will learn how to turn a pencil drawing into a digital masterpiece! They will learn how to make non-destructive edits by using layers and clipping masks. They will also get familiar with using different brushes and blending modes to create different textures, patterns and effects. This course will provide students with a solid foundation for using digital art programs, tools and techniques.

Important Note: This is a mandatory introductory course. This course is a prerequisite for Illustration 1 and Graphic Design 1.

DIGITAL ART: ILLUSTRATION 1 & 2

Age: 10+
Duration & Term length: 1.5 hours, 10 classes
Rate: $30/class + tax (materials included, a tablet, keyboard and stylus will be provided)
Locations: North York & Downtown Toronto
Course code: 402-ILU1 (Illustration 1) and 403-ILU1 (Illustration 2)

This course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career as an illustrator, concept artist, environment designer, character designer, or other similar career paths.

The Digital Art: Illustration program consists of two levels: Intermediate (1) and Advanced (2). Throughout our lessons, students will become familiar with the Krita interface and its many functions such as clipping masks, gradients, marquees, and more. Students will be just like the industry’s digital artists of today and learn to use a drawing tablet with a keyboard. This course is designed to provide a solid base for aspiring illustrators, animators

The Intermediate Illustration 1 course has 10 classes that will cover: raster-style art, character collage, digital painting from reference and imagination.
Prerequisite: (401-DGB) Digital Art Basics 

 

The Advanced Illustration 2 course consists of 10 classes, which include the following projects: children’s book cover illustration, mixed media photo illustration, and concept art.

Prerequisite: (402-ILU1) Digital Art: Illustration 1 + at least one term of Art & Achievement​​

DIGITAL ART: GRAPHIC DESIGN 1 & 2

Age: 10+
Duration & Term length: 1.5 hours, 10 classes
Rate: $30/class + tax (a tablet and stylus will be provided during class)
Locations: North York & Downtown Toronto
Course code: 404-GRA1 (Graphic Design 1) and 405-GRA2 (Graphic Design 2)

These classes are ideal for students who are interested in pursuing a career in graphic design, media arts, web design, package design, or other similar careers.

The Digital Art: Graphic Design program consists of two levels: Intermediate (1) and Advanced (2). The Advanced Graphic Design course consists of 10 classes that will cover: typography, advertisement design, infographic design, and editorial design.
Prerequisite: (404-GRA) Digital Art: Graphic Design 1 + at least one term of
